Iris: I think ytd's sermon was great. It kinda reminds us and make us question ourselves have we dont our duty. In the same way, it also and still tell us God is there for us! Thanks!

Alvina: About yesterday's sermon feedback, passing the right message to people. I think it's also important as to how we behave, whether it will give people the right impression and stuff. bro rixiang mentioned about using the natural relationships, that left quite a big impact on me. It reminded me of charmaine, she was the on that I wanted to bring for the games day, but its ok i will cont to pray for her and never give up :)

Jun De: Yesterday service showed me further on what we've been learning about reaching out to your friends. While bro rx was preaching, I was thinking about saving my friends and sharing with them, the sermon really provided a few practical points where I could pray about and use to bring my friends to Christ. This service left me with a thought no matter what situation you are in, we are still to give God all our love and like in john 14:21, to obey Him commands an sow, for if you do, at a proper time you will reap a harvest. Praise Him and I pray He will help me all the way :D

Siew Ling: Really wana thank brx for the wonderful sermon! Really praise God for bringing my friend today. I love the interaction session that starts off the sermon! :)and it really speaks to me and her! I really think we got to get ourselves prepared to share our faith to others. Relationships are important! I like the 5 points. easy to remember and useful! Because of this sermon, I plucked up my courage to ask my friend if she would like to commit to live her life for Jesus, and she said yes. It's really awesome. Everything just flows so smoothly. I feel that the sermon is more of to my friend! haha. And yeah, I do learn alot from the sermon too. :D "Just one more soul for Jesus!!!!"- I guess I will rm this phrase to keep me reminded about my purpose and His commandments.

Hou Shun: I enjoyed the sermon because it had interactions with audience. And I also liked the comparison of christians to thosebystanders, policemen and paramedics, it made me more motivated to be that paramedic that looks for the broken soul and heal that person by bringing him or her to our love, our Lord Jesus Christ. God bless :)

Jing Wei: I felt that Brother Ri Xiang really did captured our attention with the mini-game at the start of the sermon, that set all of us in the right tone of the whole sermon too. I've thought about what was said in the sermon, it really did sort of wake me up. We can all live our lives for ourselves as a self-contained Christian community but that is definitely not the right thing to do nor is it what God wants us to do. We all have a responsibility - that is to spread God's Word. Being a Christian who only prays and yearn for God daily is not enough. To take another step forward as a Christian is to share to people about Jesus and allow the Lord to use us as a vessel to spread His Word. Whether or not those people we've shared to decide to accept Christ, we leave it up to His loving hands. The question is not whether we can do it or not, it is whether we are WILLING to do it or not. On a side note, Ezekiel 3:18 kinda scares me. Haha.

TRAINING SESSION #2

oh today's session I was quite tired so i got only these notes

If we're willing, there will always be a way to do it.

We need to be willing to be used by God.

And God wants to use everyone of us!

10Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. - 1 John 5:10

If we say we do not have anything to share, we're lying!

and I personally want to challenge all of us to sit down for about 30 mins - 1 hour and start thinking of your life.

Start to think of how you were, and how you are now. Think of what God has bless you with and what changes have taken place in your life. It doesn't need to be big, like you met with some car accident, then God preserved your life. It can be as small as you're not as bad tempered as last time. You start taking school more seriously now. Or it can be that you have a clear goal in life. Your testimony can be anything and everything.

And it can be real fun when you start to count God's blessings! You will realise some stuff you had never ever realised about yourself!

and write all these stories down. start to go through it a few times and you can tell this story to your friends this saturday!

and let me remind you again.

We should not be contended with what we have as Christians, we are made for a mission!

Our mission is to

In Luke 2:49,

49"Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"

Jesus at the age of 12 knew what His mission was.

2 Corinthians 5:18 says

18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:

I only need to share, I don't need to save.

The Great Commission - its a command!

Jun De: yesterday's service was really awesome, it really ended all my doubt and everything i've been thinking about over the past few weeks. i am at the end of my first year in YI and i was really faced choosing between the library and worship ministry. i didnt know which to go too cause i had an interest in both. Many people told me to just pray and seek Him and His counsel. Throughout the weeks as i was fasting and praying i saw a few verses on how we show use the gifts God has given us to adminster to His grace (1 Peter 4:10) as well as Jesus' parable of talents, when God gives you money/gifts/stuff, what do you do with it? well that was what i started thinking. i was also reading a book and suddenly there came a part about how a singer can actually use the gift God has given him to spur others on toward love and good deeds, it provides inspiration, that spark that most really need in their lives to get it going. but still i wasnt convinced and i did not want to go down a path He did not set for me to go down to as i know what will happen and it can get scary. eventually i just told God that i'll continue to fast and pray and hope that He will drop something for me. Suddenly on saturday (yesterday) when i work up, i felt a weird joy surging through me that made me just say "yea it's SATURDAY!" and while i went about doing my quiet time, there was just peace with me and God was just telling me "prepare your heart, something's going to happen today". This feeling went on so much so that during prayer meeting for service, i just felt something was going to happen, i kept telling everyone "today's different". Then bro rx said that today ps song will be preaching on how to unleash your potential for Christ and i was like, i is really going to be great.

Sure enough, when ps. song talked about his calling and everything, at some parts it really caught me as to what my eventually calling was and standing at this crossroads between 2 ministries where was i supposed to walk to to advance my faith. Sure enough when i called, He truly answers and He just filled me up, what touched me the most was how He told me that He was there for me from the start, when i started singing in kindergarden, when i started performing, when i started not to sing in front of my friends because they told me my singing wasnt good. But somehow i was still always singing, from twinkle twinkle to granfather's clock to westlife till some weird bands, not knowing for what. Till i accepted Christ that is that i realised i found solace when i worship with singing. He told me He never stopped letting me sing since i was young and though there are many people better than me technically, i really wanted to glorify Him in that manner. Sure He can use me to speak, to inspire to do work but there are times where in private He just wants me to sing to worship. i just broke down, i didnt know He was always there, always watching me from a scenic view, ever faithful that one day i would really come on board this awesome journey with the One that can make me a better person each and everyday and can just turn my life around, turn me away from the sins of this world and annoit me with His wisdom that i never deserved.

so i have decided to give this ministry a try and if this is really for me, i know the Lord will be there every step i take. i still have my insecurities but He has told me "cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you" - 1 Peter 5:7

i really want to be obedient to Him and never turn away, always heeding His calling and i really want to see more exciting things happen in my life as i work towards being a better boy, a better child of God and a better steward of this life my Saviour has given me.

Percival: Sermon veh funny, but its somehow related to me. Ya, learning all points and applying on how cann i live my life to dhe fullest.

Hou Shun: Service was good yesterday. Pastor Song was funny in his sermon and it reached out to me. I'm sure it will reach out to alot others as well, cant wait for next week's sermon by Pastor Song. God Bless!

Eugene: The explaination of every point was very clear. The sermon speaks to me in a way or another. To me it is somewhat lifeskills that we learn in school. How to dream and achieve kind of stuff.I think the steps are quite useful in terms of eliminating negative thoughts. Good to have Pastor Song speaking every once-in-awhile, very enjoyable.

Siew Ling: Seriously great sermon! Living our life to the fullest potential! When pastor Song talked about it, I was thinking, what were my dreams? And dreaming is free! We can dream what we want. I need to think about my goals and my dream in life & nurture it. :D And coming to the part of removing all the negative thoughts, I begin to relate it to myself alot. Because somehow in the day or night, negative thoughts come to take away my joy. And Pastor Song said this statement. " Dont allow yesterday/past to affect you living your life today." This statement, I began to relate it to myself and I told myself that I want to be reminded by this everyday! I want to live a life pleasing to Him, I know God is in full control of my future and my dreams!

JOEY: I really enjoyed the sermon yesterday. Pastor Song was a great inspiration and he was very clear and direct in his preaching. I think it may be because of his old age that made me sit up and listen more attentively than usual. Old age represents wisdom after all, and a man of God like him would be even wiser than others. The sermon made me think about how God wanted to use me to bring glory to His name. It also made me realise that I need to have a goal in mind to work towards. So currently my goal is going to ACJC and hopefully write in future.Still, I will ask God before I make any decision now because He knows me best and He wants the best for me and only He can give me the right and clear direction. This is what Pastor Song said and I intend to heed his advice. The sermon was also a form of encouragement for Pastor Song said that no one was useless. I used to think that I was useless as I was really weak in math. I still am, but now I know that I should remove these negative feelings and thoughts and instead, look to God for help. This sermon also made me think about the cell group. Having a goal or goals to work towards to would benefit us as we know that we are working to achieve something. Again, we should ask God what is the goal our cellgroup should be working towards. I look forward to hearing Pastor Song preach again next Saturday.

DAVE: I found the 7 steps to your goal quite useful for me as...I don't really have a goal...and the pastor told us to live life to its fullest, I think since we have given our lives solely to God, it is up to the fullest already :-D

JJ: haha I'm fortunate to know all these principals that will help me to unleash my fullest potential in life! yaye! this sermon will really help me ONLY when i apply it in my life. i realise that we can all listen but not applying the sermons in our life, and this defeats the purpose of coming to hear the sermons every saturday. We need to be doers of the Word not just listeners. the application part of the sermon is really up to us. God has spoke to us, its whether we want to obey it or not. And when our life start to screw, we cannot blame God cause its our own decision of not wanting to apply His Word that caused us to screw up. To me this sermon is very practical, its very straightforward and its this kind of sermon that's the hardest to do the principals that's being taught. THAT'S why we need God to be there for us, and we know God is there for us. So, this sermon is really good only when we start applying it and see our lives change!

LISA: I'm wondering what would happen if we do not like what God wants us to do.How then, do we go about it? I'm glad that i know the steps to unleash our fullest potential, though i do not know what is my potential... Having a clear goal in life will really help me a lot, because sometimes i dont even know what i'm aiming for. Though Pastor Song said that we had to dream but i'm so afraid that i'm dreaming too big. haha. And i think if we start taking actions on the first 3 steps, things will start to change according to God's way(:

GHIMMY: dreams and aspirations have meant so much to us. yet in our cowardice we have given them up and run away. i like the sermon today because it has led God to telling me His dream for me, and what He has in store. i've always had a passion for young people, and even contemplated staying in YI after i hit adulthood and all, and i asked myself, what am i going to do with this passion for the young people of today? and then it hit me why God put it in me! the goal God wants me to work toward is very different from the one i had in mind. i have always wanted to be a lawyer, rolling in the big bucks, enjoying life. but never what God wanted me to do, labelling it as a thankless task. hence yesterday was the day that i really took God's plan for me into serious consideration, and decided that whatever the outcome, i would follow Him.

YouBeng: Pastor Song's sermon is good. i like the way he present it, funny but the content was whole. I really respect ps Song a lot. After living so long, i don't know what i will or want to do in future. Maybe i might be a minister in church, musician, teacher, scientist/researcher, inventor, have some job to make money and a lot more. God wants me to hear the sermon which will cause me to search for that goal in my life. I would want to discern my ambition and God's calling for me, it might or might not be the same. Whatever it is, i want to run the race to get the prize like Paul. I want to be a clay in the Potter's hand, molding me to be the person He wants me to be, where age, background, situation or any factor will not restrict my potential.

There are some confidential, so I will not put it up :D

IRIS: I think this sermon applies to me. I have learnt to not be scared when standing up for the Lord.

PERCIVAL: Eh, slides too fast, some cannot catch. Hmmms, Overall good luh.

SANDY: I think its kinda confusing. Cause right from the start I didn't know that our own relationship with God is a covenant. Then I got confused by the numerous similarities of covenant and commandments. Last but not least. I think that the moses story is good. But I think changing it with video will be better. And perhaps to stop it now and then to elaborate.

HOU SHUN: The message of the sermon was good but I think it could be more concised and more straight forward. The topic on covenant was good as it gives us more assurance as we lead our lives. God bless.

JUN DE: This week, sermon was a fitting continuation to all we talked about the past few weeks, which wa about the covenant, especially God's covenant to us. I thought that really showed us how God has actually remained faithful to this covenant, eventhough we as man failed the covenant so many times. Bcause of His loving covenant with us He has told us things like ' Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with me righteous right head.' Certainly it has not changed with time, where the common man would look through a distorted mirror of themselves and see themselves as less than they really are. God is still with these people, faithful for their salvation and making sure that their life on earth still holds hope for salvation. Praise Him! And as His children we should do the same :) Helping Him and giving Him the glory!

EUGENE: The testimony shared was also very impacting, really boosted my faith and makes me want to go all out for God.The singing and everything was entertaining. Helped me keep awake during sermon haha.I realised how important covenant is and really put a thought into how much it could do. Definitely can be applied to my life.

SIEW LING: God showed me His love. and God showed me love through cell group during dinner time. How great can He be? Covenant with God made me secured in Him & covenant in cg has been great too. I see that everyone really made an effort in it. :)

God showed me more things. Psalms 119:30-37 ( that just totally struck my head) I know I need to move on & I know my overcoming Saviour can bring me through the storms!

( I have shared part of my feedback to you guys, because the other part are quite higly confidential) -if you really want to read & would like to keep me in prayer & be accountable for, I'm more than glad to show you my feedbacks. yups!

YOU BENG: BRX preaching style is much different from pastor's but style will not restrict God from speaking through the godly men. Praise and worship was different, i could feel the congregation worshipping with a fiery desire. I remember the last time BRX preached about the godly family sermon(don't know the title but got to do with fellowship) which brought the cellgroup closer. Never in my life have i felt cell group was closer than this time. I know they will be there for me and they know we will be there for them. I pray that we will be people hearts as one to worship and exalt God through our lifes. The sermon make it known to us what a covenant is for, it can't be broken.

GHIMHWEE: the sermon has really highlighted the importance of a covenant in our world today. in this society where promises, vows are so easily, we know that with God as witness, we can always rely on our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ for help. also, it has shown us God's love for us through His covenant, seen when God delivered the israelites from the egyptians into the land of milk and honey despite the israelites being so faithless and superficial. this makes it ever so applicable in our lives because we know we can always look to Him and His promises.i also feel that having a cg covenant is a good move as it would clearly outline to everyone the role they can play in the cell group as well as edifying one another and spurring each other to doing good deeds.

DAVE: The sermon was about how that guy stood firm as a christian and although he got abused by his dad, he still wanted to be a christian.I think we should all learn from him as he is a good example to us christians. Yesterday's sermon made me realise how God has changed many lives and how people have devoted their lives to him.

JOEY: The sermon made me realise how much I need my cell group and how we should learn to appreciate not just our cell group members,but also our brother and sister in Christ. I think the covenant is a an excellent daily reminder of how we should learn to do this. I also realised the importance of having people who you can depend on to help you with your problems and that everyone can grow together as Christians if we help each other too. With the covenant, I think the cell group can progress to be the cell group that He wants us to be.

LISA: I was very touched by the testimony shared. If a four-month-old christian can stand so strong and firm for God, I don't see any reason for me not to stand strong for God. I think he is the role model of many, and we ought to learn from him. From the covenant, i feel like we can always rely on our fellow brothers and sisters in christ. I have this assurance that there will always be people there for me. The covenant in the cell group also helps us form closer bonds with each other as we follow the covenant together as a cell group.

JJ: first i must thank God for giving me a chance to renew His covenant with me! I'm happy that He has reminded me of His covenant with me that He will always be with me wherever i go, whatever i do. i now know I'm always secured in God! i feel renewed for this holidays and that His grace and strength is all i need to fight of those temptations that will come during the holidays.

ladies and gentlemen, im proud to announce to you that...

we planned a combined cell with Zealot2 for celebration when Exams are over! yay!! (most of us exam will over on 23rd august)
ok this is the plan: its gonna be EVANGELISTIC (emphasis added)
The details are not planned out yet so will confirm again.

Date: 23-8-08 Saturday
Venue: Tentatively kismie field in Ngee Ann poly, subjected to change. GST not included.
Time: somewhere around 12+pm??
Expected new comers: 3-5 guys or girls (principle: dun bring more than wad we can contain, dun bite more than wad u can eat)

Everyone start to invite your friends for this event, u can use exams celebration as something to attract them! You know start with prayer "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day."

Those who have yet to experience the joy of seeing your friend or anyone saved, now may be the chance to bring it to past.

Gossip
It ruins reputations and destroys friendships. So what can you do about it?

I remember it like it was yesterday. The queasy stomach, the tears I fought to hold back, the incredible hurt I felt in my heart.

"You know, Autumn," my friend Nick* said, "Lisa and Andrea were just talking about you." I immediately got tense.

"They said you're a kiss-up, that the only reason you start on the basketball team is because the coach likes you. It's not because you're good."

I thought I might be sick.

"They said they're tired of you always getting what you want. You don't deserve it."

It was all I could do to hold back the tears as I sank to my knees on the cold, concrete floor. As Nick continued to tell me everything my supposed best friends said about me, I was crushed. My mind raced. I knew I didn't deserve this. But that didn't make it any easier.

Lisa and Andrea came in from lunch break acting like nothing had happened. Lisa was still my locker mate, Andrea my partner on a history project. I was amazed at their ability to pretend we had the perfect friendship. Especially since they'd said such hurtful things.

I was a freshman in high school—and I felt like I didn't have a friend in the world.

All because of gossip.

The Bible tells us the tongue is our worst enemy. "The tongue is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person," James 3:6 says.

In the book of Romans, Paul includes gossip among the sins of murder, envy, greed, deceit and malice. He said "those who do such things deserve death."

So why does God despise gossip?

Proverbs offers several verses on the subject. A gossip "betrays a confidence" (11:13) and "separates close friends" (16:28). Proverbs 18:8 says, "The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts."

When we say mean things about others, we're inflicting emotional pain on them. Instead of punching them in the nose, we're shooting daggers into their heart.

As Christians, we're supposed to honor God in all areas of our lives. Talking negatively about friends or strangers does not show Christ's unconditional love.

So, what should we do when we encounter gossip? I think there are three possible responses.

1. Speak out. Kindly but firmly tell your friends gossip is hurtful and that no one benefits from it.

2. Be positive. Turn the conversation around by saying something nice about the person being talked about.

3. Walk away. Don't be part of the problem by sticking around to listen.

You've probably heard gossip everywhere—at school, in the mall, on the Net. But what about on Sunday mornings? You'd think stuff like this wouldn't happen in church sanctuaries or youth group meetings, right?

Wrong, unfortunately. And the scary thing is we may not even realize it. Gossip may not be as blatant at church as it is at school, but it can still show its ugly face. We're just better at "disguising" it at church.

For example, one of your friends tells you her parents are getting divorced, and she asks for prayer. Do you find yourself wanting to notify the church prayer chain, all your relatives and any other Christians you can think of—all with the seemingly good intention of wanting prayer for your friend?

If so, stop, drop and …

1. Resist the urge. She confided in you, not the entire church congregation. Don't break her trust, even if it's for something as apparently good as a prayer request.

2. Pray. Get on your knees and do as your friend asked—talk to God.

3. Talk to your friend. Ask your friend if she'd like you to share her prayer concern with anyone else, and if so, who? Talk to her before you disclose any personal information.

Unfortunately, we've all been guilty of gossip at one time or another—intentional or not. And we've all been the victim of it too. But how should we react when we discover a trusted friend has been saying mean things about us? Yes, it hurts, but have hope. You can do several things.

1. Go to God. Talk, cry, scream—whatever it takes to resolve your hurt. Just hand it over to him.

2. Forgive. You can only do this by the grace of God. And you need to—no matter how difficult it is. (Check out Matthew 6:14-15 for some help.) Forgive your friend first in your heart. Ask God for guidance and healing.

3. Confront. When your emotions are under control, tell the person or people who hurt you how their words made you feel. (If necessary, "rehearse" what you'd like to say beforehand. If you think you might lose your cool, express your feelings in a note or e-mail.) Then tell them you forgive them. Hopefully, this will help you move on with your friendship.

So what happened with Lisa and Andrea?

When they pretended our friendship hadn't changed, I was tempted to lash out. But I took a step back. I talked to God. And through my tears I found a true friend in Jesus—one who would never betray me.

He gave me the strength to tell my friends they had hurt me. Lisa started crying; Andrea didn't know what to say. I knew they were both sorry for what they had said. They apologized, and through the grace of God I was able to forgive them. Sure, things were a little tense at first, but after awhile everything was back to the way it was before.

I still deal with gossip, whether it be as a recipient or a participant. But the more I learn about God's love, the more I realize the importance of encouraging others—and that never includes gossip.

I wanna encourage you to put in effort in your studies. For me myself i have reports and projects and exams too. In the Bible it says that if you are faithful in little things, God will give you GREATER things.
You certainly dun wanna misuse God's name by saying God is more important than studies so i don't have to study~ That is a big lie that satan has been using on me all the time. How can satan use this on me? The fact is i don't like studying but i love serving God in ministry.
Studying is serving God
God place you through education for a purpose, there will be one day, you will put all you have learnt into practice!

CHANGE IN DATES FOR ZEALOT GAMES DAY

The dates for Zealot games day will Postponed to probably November so that means the cards that you have can't be used

but don't be disappointed because on 14-6-08, there will be a MASS YI AMAZING RACE! And then later we will go for service :D

Details are not out yet but probably its about 10am that we need to assemble and then start maybe 11am?

I am glad to see that cellgroup are more bonded and on fire after radical conference. Its a awesome conference but this is definitely the time that we can't sit back and relax after a spiritual high.

Guys, satan can't stop us from rising up but he would want to shoot us down when we rise up.

For me im gonna fast and pray during the holidays, i don't like the idea of slacking and 'resting' during the holidays, the devil loves the idle mind.

ok i've got some testimonies to share.

First: HEALING: just today morning, as i was watching youtube and slacking around after i woke up, my computer got a virus. its a very serious one, the anti-virus program keep alerting that it got trojan. i was scared and shocked to death, my hands and feet became cold. its a spyware in the computer which is not easily removed by programmes like mcafee or any spy ware remover. i tried to do alot of things.

After a hour suddenly i remembered praying to God, then i worshipped God with the song "came to my rescue". i was still struggling in my mind even when i sang the song, i kept looking at the screen. I prayed for God to 'heal' the computer. Then, i got to a web and got a program that claim it could get rid of the spyware. So i just went to do it and the alert was no longer there, my computer is working perfectly now. no more alert balloon, no more lagging.. but theres a condition for it. I told God that if He heal the computer, i will give glory to Him.GLORY TO GOD

Second : God have been working in my class and i can see His favor on me. just 2 weeks of getting to know one another, the clique im in has quite a good relationship, we will do things together and i had a idea to bond us up. I asked this classmate to bring uno cards so that we can play during break time and indeed he brought it. I saw a lie that satan have been giving me: " i have the influence over my friends but i do not have enough influence to impact their lives" It is written that i can cast out even demons in Jesus name.

During a 2 hour break time, i got a chance to talk to this classmate(who brought the uno cards and is the class rep too), i just casually asked him what he will do when he go home. then, i share to him what i would do when i got home too. i told him i will online in msn awhile, watching tv awhile and play guitar awhile. He then asked me where i learned to play guitar so i told him i learn it myself and people in church taught me. The conversation went further, he told me he have friends from church too and he went to church for some events but he cannot believe because his family is bhuddist.

it was good but i forgot to ask this question: "if your family is not bhuddist or doesnt have a beliefs, would you want to try out?" When God's favor is on you, men's favor will be upon you too. theres another person in the class whom i just knew, this person will always greet me start conversation with me.

its God who is working, no doubts.

Do You Know?...

Emperors of ancient China had a tradition of sacrificing to the deity known as "Shang Di", meaning "Heavenly Emperor", or One who held ultimate supremacy. The emperors of old thought they carried a mandate from heaven, and so they were also known as "sons of heaven".

In their worship of Shang-Di, the emperors had to make a yearly trip to the outskirts of the capital or to a grand city. There on an altar constructed outdoors, they presented a healthy young bull to be burnt as a sacrifice. This was known as the "border sacrifice". The earliest border sacrifices were recorded in the classic The Book of History, in which Confucius noted that the emperor Shun (2255 B.C)" thence presented sacrifices to Shang-Di. Again in the The doctrine of the Mean Confucius explained that the border sacrifice was intended as a service to Shang-Di.

From ancient times, the Chinese people worshipped Shang-Di on the summit of Mount Tai. In the temple called " Temple of Heaven" hung 2 tablets with the word "Shang-Di of Supreme Heaven".

Unfortunately, with the passing of time and the impact of politics, the border sacrifice slowly lost its significance and its practice was eventually omitted, since then, the Chinese forsook worshipping the one God to many gods.
They made chinese historical heroes, characters in the Chinese classic literatures as gods to be worshipped, even ordinary people who passed away found themselves in the class of immortals.

Q: Who in actual fact was the God worshipped by the ancient Chinese??
(Lao-Tze is somehow the starter of Taoism)

Lao-Tze ( always pronounced as lao zi), the quintessentially Chinese expositor of Tao("The way" or "The spoken Word"), states in his classic Tao Te Ching: "A being entirely one existed before the creation of the universe. How quiet and empty it was! This Being exists independently without changing and moves about without tiring, and could be considered the Mother of the Heavens and the Earth. Not knowing the name, I use the expression 'Tao' ". Clearly, Lao-Tze's Tao is the One Being who started the universe and everything in it. The Tao Te Ching also opens with:"Tao can be expressed in words, but is not the way commonly perceived by man".

In the Bible, the Gospel of John opens with:"in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Tao is the spoken expression of God, and in the beginning had the same status and even the same identity as God.
Through earnest meditation, Lao-Tze was able to understand a little of the nature of Tao, but the Bible is written under the guidance of God Himself. This example illustrates how man can never come to the knowledge of God if He had not revealed Himself.

Jesus said:"I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Know Jesus Know Peace, no Jesus no peace.

Testimonial

My friend just shared her story with me.
This is just a summary, not really accurate...

Gloomy dark day, rainy.
Her uncle died of cancer.
She had spiritual attacks for very long, or what she calls satanic attacks. Wasn't really close to God.
Almost giving up hope. Her faith wasn't in a good stage all the while.

During her uncle's suffering days, he went to church regularly despite the pain. Praising
God whole heartedly.
One day in the hospital while her uncle was dying, the pastor said to him, "let God take
control, stop fighting it." and said a short prayer. At the end of the prayer, her uncle
shouted "AMEN!" very loudly. And I think her uncle left the next day.

During her uncle's cremation,
She said to God, "if you really are real, show me a sign, its like the last chance.
Will probably never turn back after this." Because her uncle was struggling in pain so hard
and still praised God with all his heart, still God never healed him, even though there
were many others praying for him.
Then she remembered her pastor said look up in the sky, don't look down.
Because if you look down, you only see the coffin.

She looked up, saw a cross and a circle light in dark sky. It shined when the dark clouds
started to open up a circle and the shape of a cross. The light was white.
3 other ppl saw angels.

Saw 2 bright white lights, there was no way it is the sun because your eye would hurt if
you look at the sun + the sunlight isn't white.
When she saw white lights she felt peace and speechless.
Right after the coffin was out, the clouds begin to close like the doors of heaven close.

Her side of the family left the place happy and smiling.
What are the odds that it happened by luck/chance?
What are he odds that it was totally coincidental?

From then on she said she couldn't question God anymore.
She said there was no way she could deny God, God is real.
She told me this, God will only take us away when we're ready. Not when he feels like it.

My message: When you're desperate for God, he shows up. In whatever you do, lose or win, continue to praise God, he has plans for you but you just don't know it.
Trust the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul.
I hope this will boost your faith. :)

FRIDAY 18-01-08-
meeting venue: PAYA LEBAR MRT STATION
time: 5.45PM! strictly no lates
Time session starts: 7pm-9pm
If possible wear a black T-shirt or any YI shirt.

why so early? it start at 7pm, then we nothing to do in 1 hour?!
2 churches are involved in this conference total attendance 700+700=1400 so there will be a overflow room which will show the 'live' of the conference. (means go other room watch tv)
Be there early to CATCH THE GLIMPSE OF JESUS(refernce from Z3 band)
--If we can be early to go school, why can't we be early to seek God?

SATURDAY 19-01-08
Wear your school uniform as gonna pray for school, those not wearing school uniform if possible wear black T-shirt or any YI shirt.
For girls wear a black pants inside.
Might have to sit on floor

-there will probably be no chartered bus.
*No dinner after the service as it is late already, even you don't have to go home early, be an example to protect the time. No one will be exceptional even me! haha!

Hoho. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
2007 is coming to an end!
That's pretty fast right!
But I hope your 2007 has been great and awesome!
Though there was ups and downs. Praise God for everything!
So let's put our past aside and look on to 2008!
A new year, a new start! :D

7) Toiletries - i.e. Towel, Tooth Brush and Tooth Paste, Bathing items
8) A pair of Sports shoes
9) A pair of Slippers/Sandals
10) Encouragement Cards (Encouragement corner)

12) A Plastic Cup/Mug for drinking during meals
13) 3-6 BLACK tee shirts

-do bring extra socks we are nice smelling people right?
last year the shoes stank the whole place i dunno whether extra socks help but yarr last year the smell was practically killing!

- if u know u are goin to write for who it is advisable to write them at home then bring to the camp. because when they want u to lights out they mean it and there is no such thing as not sleeping write a few more cards. there might not be enough time so write some ready at home and u will have enough time for evrything :P
-Bring some candies if can

-BEDSHEETS AND SLEEPING BAG
bedsheets are not required to bring as long as u bring a sleeping bag but you must bring either one if not u will not be allowed to sleep on the mattresses but i advise on bringing sleeping bag not bedsheets because last year we slept in air con room it was super cold but this year i dunno "/

-Don't wear skimpily during the camp

okay.while i was on the bus trip back a few weeks ago,God put these 2 words in my mind.
READY. and WILLING.
whats the diff?

being ready may mean that you're well equipped with bible knowledge,techniques in sharing christ etc.
but what being ready may also mean, is that you may be ready, but unwilling.
and this leads to pastor daniel's emphasis on KNOWING, but not DOING.

but what about being willing?
being willing does not mean being readily equipped to go for God, but it means being ready to make serving God a priority.see the difference?

all throughout the bible, God does not use ready people.He uses the willing.
examples?
1)when the israelites refused to enter the promised land because they were scared even though the were readly equipped(they had God, duh.), GOd left them in the desert for 40 years until the next generation took over and werewilling to undertake this task for God.
2)"The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom,
and humility comes before honor." -Proverbs 15:33
why does humility come before honour?because only the humble will be willing to submit themselves into God's plans.only then, will you have the honour of God using you in His plans. does it say "readiness comes befoer honour" no, it doesn't.

God doesn't care about how ready you are. He cares how willing you are. because He gave you free will, and will only be able to use you in His plans if you give him the go-ahead.
so, people, are you being willing to work for the Almighty's cause today?or are you planning to go through the cycle of knowing and yet not doing,being ready and yet not willing?make the right choice.

This is what i read in my quiet time: Deuteronomy 6 (the numbers are verses)

Deuteronomy 6:2 fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life.

-God will remind you His holiness(morally perfect) through Christians)

5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

-> Let your relationship be rooted with love of God, not something you need to do.

->Think of how to show your love of God when you wake up.

->Think of how God have loved you, did you give the love God deserves?

-> Symbol of this relationship with God is love, show it more than your crumpler, branded stuff or whatever. :)

14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you

->This verse tell us not to chase after what the world is chasing.

Holiness is not a list of do's and dont's, it is the by product of your love for God.

hey guys pray for people who could not come church for whatever reason, God will solve it.

Just watched a drama series and some characters dying. Then i thought, what if my members died? Maybe ask me this, i would say " i will rejoice cus they go heaven" but maybe i would cry like mad. It breaks God's heart for people not to have a relationship with Him. It breaks my heart for people to break God's heart.

hello people!
i think this is the first time im posting on zealot3 blog, so, can i have some applause? lol. just kidding, save them for God.

since today's sermon notes will most prob be on zealot area blog, let me talk about something else.
what am i gonna post about? christians. yep that's right christians.

christians nowadays can be classified into many groups, the more prominent groups are:
1) the group that go to church for fun and call themselves christians.
2) the group that goes to church, listens to sermon, and goes out and scold vulgarities.
3) the group that serve in ministry, seem like good christians in church, but outside, they are different from what they are in church.
4) the group that pon church/ dont go church at all/ dont have a relationship with God, and they have the cheek to call themselves christians.

what about the good ones? those who have a growing relationship with God, and shows christ-like attitude and behaviour? well i think these people are being v unfairly pulled down by the "christian" groups above, and thus instead of calling them christians, we should call them "disciples of christ".

what then, makes us a disciple of christ?
1) have a growing and constant relationship with God.
were Jesus' disciples strangers to Him? nay. they had a very close relationship with Jesus. and so if the disciples then had a very close relationship with Jesus, what makes us any different?
2) Love.
did the disciples of Jesus hate him? (maybe judas iscariot, but, who cares about him.)
in the smae way we love, Jesus, we've gotta love each otherrrr. right right right? :D
3) obedience
just like pastor daniel said. if we love God, we obey Him. obedience is proof of our love to Jesus.

notice that all the other things that are good, all stem from these 3 factors? eg, how can you have faith if your walk with God is bad? and if we love Jesus, wouldnt we wanna be pure not only in our own eyes, but more importantly, His?

so, question is, are you just merely a christian, or a disciple of christ?
